Character Details

Kouryu is the master of Kaede, Moriya, and Yuki, now resurrected as their ultimate foe. Normally, when Seiryu falls, it is said to become the Yellow Dragon and continue guarding Hell's Gate from the other side, in Hades. But now, with the seal on the gate still weakened, the power of Hades has grown so great that it overwhelmed even the Yellow Dragon's will. Gaisei, now as Kouryu, bears the strength of all four Gods, and stands as an obstacle to prevent the Rite of Binding. Though he is an adversary, he is also a victim of destiny, compelled to fight and trap his own students in the storm of battle.

Substory

Kouryu, the Yellow Dragon, is a higher-order being, the counterpart to the Four Gods. Since the age of myth, it stood beside them, sealing Hell's Gate from the far side, its power so great as to equal that of the other four combined. It is the shadow to their light, and together, all maintained the balance. But Kagami's uprising tipped the scales, and Kouryu was overtaken by the dark forces of Hades and made to betray his charge to guard the gate. Now he has crossed over into the world of men, no longer a guardian... but the mightest of the dead: the Messenger of Hades.
